I was in London last weekend for 3 days for some exhibitions and photography. I was at the Affordable Art Fair in Hampstead and I've selected about 10 images which are at the top of the Art Fairs section. Then I visited the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition which always shows a broad range of painting, sculpture and architectural models. Unfortunately they don't allow photography so here's a link to their website: Royal Academy of Arts Summer Show and also a video introduction to the exhibition by Hughie O'Donoghue, below.
I also went to the Matisse Cut Outs exhibition in the Tate Modern. I wrote about this a few weeks back and noted that the Cut Outs had never inspired me in the past, however the exhibition is excellent with a very strong design element with primary colours and shapes used to great effect, and the sheer size of the work also adds an extra dimension.
All these exhibitions were set against a backdrop of walking around London, photographing street life and architecture in the Brick Lane, Thames walk, and South Bank areas.
